Onion Cheese Supper Bread

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon shortening, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups biscuit mix (Bisquick)
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon poppy seeds, or sesame seeds
2 tablespoons melted butter

Saute' onion in shortening until golden. Mix eggs and milk. Blend in Bisquick. Add onion and half of cheese. Spread in a greased 8" round pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, poppy seeds, and butter. Bake at 400 degrees 20-25 minutes.
